Vina Fay Wray was born on September 15, 1907 in Cardston, Alberta. The Wray family moved down to Los Angeles some time after Fay was born, and her talents and abilities were noticed down there. The little girl born in the Alberta foothills with Old Chief Mountain standing guard became a world famous Hollywood movie star in her role as Ann Darrow in the 1933 film King Kong. Through an acting career that spanned nearly six decades, Wray attained international recognition as an actress in horror films. She has been dubbed one of the early "scream queens".
At Cardston's diamond Jubilee in 1967, the Blood Tribe made Fay Wray an honorary princess and gave her the name of "Little Beaver."
The "Fay Wray fountain" was unveiled in her honor.
Fay Wray died on August 8, 2004.
