Annual Fundraising Event

Due to the recent questionable demise of the D.U.H. nurse and Foundation newsletter editor, Misty Meener, there will be an emergency meeting of Foundation board members and other involved parties on Friday, at 6:30 PM November 25 in the Tanner Centennial Seniors Centre, 260 1st St West. We are all united in seeing that Misty’s death in no way casts a negative reflection on the Foundation or the Hospital, and to avoid potential scandal in the community.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sounds like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest.

Let's Face It (Exhibit Launch)

The Cardston Historical Society announces the premier launch of a local artist exhibit portraying one hundred indigenous children who attended residential schools across Canada.

The premier exhibit of “Let’s Face It” will launch on

Wednesday, July 6 at 7 PM

Cardston Courthouse & Heritage Museum.

The Exhibit Launch is open to the public.

“This exhibit is one way to contribute to the building of understanding and restoration of respectful reconciliation,” says Blaine Jensen, President of the Historical Society. Artist Faye Johansen will speak to the recently completed exhibit of one hundred charcoal drawings drawn from photographs of Indigenous children she had viewed on the Truth & Reconciliation Commission website. Inspired by these photographs, she undertook to capture the faces of one hundred of these children in charcoal.

Mrs. Johansen says she feels that she has captured the appearance and spirit of these children with her work. Attendees will be able to attend on Wednesday to hear Mrs. Johansen’s address and view her drawings.

For those unable to attend, this exhibit will be featured during our regular hours from July 11-29, Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Regular Admission fees apply:

Children, Annual Pass Holders, Society Members - Free

Youth (12-18 yrs.) - $3

Adults - $5
